The first start

Retreats house of Trinapolis

27th of October, 2017

We’ve just had our first retreat at the retreats house of Trinapolis of Vilnius archdiocese. In three days we’ve briefly discussed what is going to happen on a mission, possible risks, tasks, and challenges. The retreat was guided by Corps’ leader Rokas Balsys, our chaplain – father Mindaugas Bernatavičius, leader of Lithuanian Catholic Voice – Toma Bružaitė and a Jesuit missioner, who has spent most of his life on the missions – father Antanas Saulaitis SJ.

Each volunteer gave the oath, prayed together with other team members, discussed obedience in the family and it’s raising challenges. On Sunday we had a video conference with Hinna Parvez from Aid to The Church in Need, UK, Manchester branch. Hinna gave us her testimony and teaching on the topic “Jesus the refugee”. We were truly touched by the experience and the message of Hinna’s life.

This weekend has become a symbolic start to the preparation period of 7 months before departing to the mission. We thank God for all the good people that support our mission. Thank you for your kindness.
